Leagues

A club league gives players a reason to return regularly. By rotating opponents and playing fun matches, players meet more members and feel connected to the club.

Every two weeks, ClubMatch automatically creates new matches based on player preferences, while avoiding repetitive pairings.

By continuously updating player levels using match results, ClubMatch ensures balanced, competitive, and enjoyable matches that keep players engaged and eager to play again.

A smarter, more flexible league

Players can join at any time during the season and stay fully in control. They choose their preferred playing days and how often they want to play, making it easy to fit matches into their schedule. With the flexibility to skip rounds during holidays or busy periods, the competition remains accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Matches at your level

New players can estimate their level using well-known national and international rating systems. For players unfamiliar with official ratings, simple descriptions are also provided. The first match is assigned based on the player's self-assessment. After that, play levels are updated immediately using match results. We just need one or two matches to determine an accurate level.

No administration

ClubMatch is a complete solution: We take care of player registration, setting up matches, processing results and answering player email questions. Every two weeks, you receive detailed reports to track progress and engagement. We also remove users that repeatedly fail to play their matches, ensuring a reliable and enjoyable experience for everyone. The only thing your club needs to do is promotion.

Promotion

Promotion is key to success—the more players participate, the more fun it becomes. ClubMatch supports clubs with a complete set of promotional tools, including ready-to-use email and website text, a one-click WhatsApp share button, bi-weekly club league news posters (pdf), ClubMatch A5 flyers, and even a dedicated Club TV Channel showing upcoming matches and recent results.

Ladder league rules

The basic rule of the ladder league is simple: you switch positions if you win against a higher-ranked player. For all other scenarios, ClubMatch defines rules covering both standard match outcomes and exceptional situations.

Match format

For tennis and padel, the club decides which match scoring system best fit their configuration. ClubMatch supports a wide range of scoring formats, including 'count total games won', 'best of 3' and 'best of 3 with a tiebreak'. For most other sports, scoring system are more standardized and supported out of the box.

League seasons

Leagues are organized in seasons, with each season consisting of rounds that start every two weeks. Players can join at any time and receive a new match at the start of each round.

Separate leagues for men and women

ClubMatch supports separate leagues for different categories, such as men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles. However, the smarter option is a single league where individual players set their own preferences. This allows both men and women to choose whether they play within their own category, while still benefiting from a larger, more dynamic league. To recognize performance fairly, ClubMatch celebrates the top three players in each category separately—even if the league contains players of multiple categories.

Ladder league vs box league

Traditional box leagues lock players into fixed groups and schedules, forcing everyone to play at the same frequency and keeping players stuck at the same level for a long time. With ClubMatch, players choose how often they play and move up quickly as they win, ensuring they reach the right level within weeks. This flexibility makes ClubMatch more enjoyable for both beginners and advanced players alike.
