Outdoor sports seasons

Outdoor seasons are typcially used for sports like tennis, padel, pickleball, and golf.

There are two outdoor seasons: a summer season and a winter season.

  • Summer season runs from April through October and is the primary outdoor playing season for countries in the Northern Hemisphere.
  • Winter season runs from October through March. The winter season includes a break around the end of December until the second week of Janurary to accommodate the Christmas and New Year period, when many players are unavailable.

Leagues at clubs with indoor courts or outdoor courts that are suitable for winter conditions can continue during the winter season. We recommend pausing the league during the winter season if there are fewer than 40 active players. Some clubs choose to run their leagues exclusively during the winter season.

Note that the seasons are based on the Northern Hemisphere calendar.
