New players select their own play level, and the first match is based on this self-assessment. Levels are corrected very quickly using match results — typically within one or two matches — so it's fine if your estimate is a bit off.

What if I pick the wrong level?
No problem. As soon as your first match result comes in, we correct your level — so you're playing opponents at your level right away.
What if I already have a level?
If you already have a rating with us, we carry it over to any new competition you join. For tennis doubles, we use your singles rating to estimate your starting doubles rating.
Can I change my level?
Yes — as long as you haven't played a match yet. You can also adjust your own rating if you haven't played for a year.
