Ladder league rules

The basic rule of the ladder league is simple: you switch positions if you win against a higher-ranked player. For all other scenarios, ClubMatch defines rules covering both standard match outcomes and exceptional situations.

Ranking position

After each round, match results are processed to update the rankings. Players move up by defeating higher-ranked opponents and may drop positions due to cancellations or prolonged inactivity, while new players enter at a level-based starting position.

How are matches setup?

We use your most recent match results to determine your most suitable opponent. The stronger your recent results, the more likely you are to be matched against a higher-ranked opponent in the next round. If you win twice in a row against a lower-ranked player, you receive top priority to face a higher-ranked opponent, while we also ensure you do not play against someone you have faced recently.

Planning the match

Scheduling a match can be challenging, with different agendas to take into account. To keep things fair, ClubMatch provides guidelines that define who takes the initiative, what constitutes a suitable proposal, and each player's responsibilities.

Match is not played

If a match cannot be played, there are rules that define how the match should be registered. Depending on the situation, the match may be postponed, canceled by one of the players, or canceled by both.

Registering the score

Any player can register the score, but we recommend that the winner enters the result. Results are processed at the end of the round to allow time for review. If you forget to register the score in time, you can contact our support team with the score and your opponent’s name so we can update the match.

Challenging another player

Only results from league matches count towards your ranking position. Results from friendly matches do not count. If you want to play more league matches, you can update your play settings to play more often.
