Match rules

Winner

The rules to determine the winner vary per sport and can be adjusted by the club. You will find the rules in every match email.
Each player can register the score.

Your ranking position

At the end of each round, we process the matches to determine your new ranking position as follows:
  • You switch positions if you win against a higher-ranked player.
  • You drop one spot if you cancel a match or if you skip three consecutive rounds.
  • Your profile is removed if you cancel all your matches two consecutive rounds.

New players

Players can join at any time and their starting position is based on their level. After that, only match results matter.

You drop only one spot if you lose to a new player, unless you haven't won a match yet in previous rounds.

Multiple matches per round

If you play two or more matches in a round, the results may contradict eachother. For example, you win against #10 but you lose lose against #20. Your next position will be in between your highest win and your lowest loss (#15). If there are 3 or more conflicting match results in the same round, your next position is calculated using all match results. For example, if you win against #10 and #11 and you lose against #20, your next position will be around #13.

Same position

It can happen that two players end up in the same position. For example, if #13 wins from #8 and #5 loses from #8, both #5 and #13 end up at position #8. In this case we look at:
  • The result of a match between these players, if any.
  • The results of matches with a common third player, if any.
  • The previous position of the players.

Frequently asked questions

We look at your most recent match results to determine your 'ideal' opponent. If you win twice in a row against a lower-ranked player, you get top priority to play against a higher-ranked opponent in the next round. We also make sure you do not play against someone you have played with recently.
